Kidlet! You are so much fun! What makes you so energetic?
Sugar. And I just don’t do well bored.
You seem so busy in there…what in the heck are you doing?
Building something. It’s a secret.
How old are you now?
I’ll be 7 1/2 months on Sunday. It’s really a great age. I have a lot more freedom and flexibility.
Any new favorite foods?
Oh man, there are so many now! Seriously where have these kinds of things been all my life?! Ruth’s Chris steak and creamed spinach, French silk pie, banana cream pie, apple pie, root beer floats, BuRgErS, and Mom’s smashed potatoes are a few of my favorites.
What are you currently reading?
Some dude whose voice is getting really familiar likes reading me these books about the attributes of God by Dr. Craig. I also have enjoyed Aliens Love Underpants. I feel these two topics alone are getting me ready for when Mom says I have to move out. Just good information to have all around.
Any favorite songs?
Mom sings Sting to me. I think we’re just skipping the whole “Wheels on the Bus” movement in music.
What ticks you off?
When Mom lays on her right side. I don’t know why she doesn’t get it – I mean it makes me face straight downward like I’m falling into a forced push up or something! But I have figured out that there’s a button on her ribs. If I kick it hard enough she turns.
Did you know you have a big brother?
Yeah. I hear Mom talk about him a lot. I can’t wait to meet him some day.
Me too. Thanks for your time Kidlet! Let’s go for a swim!
I’ve already been at it for months. ; )

Sips with the kidlet: interview no. 1

Welcome to the first of many in a new series: sips with the kidlet. This is the chance every so often we’ll take to sit down with the kidlet over a great drink and chat about life.
Today’s drink: all natural raspberry lemonade over ice
Location: back porch
So, kidlet, you’ll be celebrating your 5 month womb-time birthday this weekend. Do you feel older?
I do. I’m stronger now and I love that my head is still ginormous.
What do you like to do with your spare time?
I just like laying around and kickin’ it. I like wall climbing. Sometimes in life you have to do a 180 though.
What are you currently reading?
“I Love Tools” by Philemon Sturges
I didn’t pick it out, but it’s pretty good. It’s just your basic overview of the different tools. Dad says there are some philosophical errors in it, but hey – it gets the job done.
What’s your favorite food?
There aren’t many that aren’t just straight up hard sugar. Although I recently had my first pizza. Have you ever heard of that? Pizza? It’s a-mazing. Let me tell you. I don’t know what took me so long!
What relaxes you?
I LOVE music. All kinds, really. I chill out the most to the worship songs at church and the Temper Trap. I like it when my mom dances. I’m also pretty chill when she’s teaching.
What stresses you out?
Sitting and doing nothing. I like to move.
What are you looking forward to the most about the next few months?
(Kicks). Um, probably the food. There’s been more food around here lately and that’s been nice. I’m not all that thrilled about my room getting smaller though.
Ha, yeah I hear ya! So what’s one thing not many people know about you?
That I simply generally know way more than people think I do. I like it that way. It keeps the mystery factor alive.
Are you aware of how much pink is happening right now?
No, I wasn’t aware of that. I’m cool though. Real men handle pink.
